Smart, Great Southerm Maritime Services Corp Ink Partnership

Manila, June 2007 - Seafarers onboard foreign-going ships may now conveniently remit money to their loved-ones in the Philippines using Smart Money.

Under the newly-signed Memorandum of Agreement, leading wireless service provider, Smart Communications, Inc. (SMART), through its Wireless Consumer Solutions Group, will provide the Smart Money Card Services to over 700 seafarers of Great Southern Maritime Corporation. Smart Money will enable seafarers to send their remittances directly to their families in the Philippines and enjoy the benefits of trouble-free transactions. Disbursement of payroll of GSM employees will also be through the Smart Money Card.

By just using their Smart cell phones, remitting money to their loved ones is now easier than ever but more importantly done at the least cost,¡± said Engr. Sammuel Lim, GSM President and General Manager, during the signing ceremony held recently in Ermita, Manila.

Engr. Lim, who is also the President of the Filipino Association of Mariners Employment (FAME), strongly believes in harnessing the convenience of mobile technology for the benefit of Filipino seafarers and their families.
