Job Title: DEVELOPMENT & PLANNING DIRECTOR
Number of Positions : 1

Job Accountabilities:
Leading a full on-site project team, the incumbent will work closely with the company head executive, business development group and external consultants. His principle accountabilities include:
  • Provides feasibility studies on potential development projects which include analyzing and evaluating targeted city planning needs vis-à-vis project potentials. Provides recommendation and development strategy proposals to top management on project viability
  • Responsible for the master planning of designated development projects; delivery of innovative solutions (including phasing of projects); maximize commercial returns and social & economic benefits to the targeted city.
  • Contributes inputs to the project at design conceptualization stage.
  • Responsible for drafting consultant briefs; selection & engagement of consultants and follows through with them in the crafting of development projects master plans; exercises quality control and compliance in time, cost parameters and project delivery.
  • Liaise with government authorities to obtain endorsements/approvals on project.
  • Takes note of changing needs and emerging opportunities and where necessary, make appropriate amendments to master plans to maximize the value of the project.
  • Provides expertise advisory to other projects that include state-of-the-art office buildings, high-tech parks, education-related infrastructure etc.
  • Contributes inputs and ideas at internal decision-making forums; participates in discussions and negotiations with prospective business partners / premise users to solicit inputs and feedback on the feasibility of new projects development
  • Promotes healthy learning culture in the department and helps staff to develop their potentials.
 
Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Attributes:
  • Master degree in Urban Design, Architecture or Planning
  • 15 - 18 years working experience in design and real estate development in an international environment. Minimum 3 years of experience in China is desired
  • Experience in liaising with Chinese government authorities and approval bodies will be an advantage
  • Good people management and organization skills
  • Ability to communicate fluently in Chinese and English
  • Willing to travel frequently
